The Board of Make Wellston Beautiful, Inc. met to discuss this Fall’s Rec Sports Programming. We all miss being out on the fields providing quality programming for our local young people. However, the safety of our players, volunteers, families, and community members must be at the forefront of all decisions. With the latest information in mind, including today’s announcement of Jackson County being elevated to a Level 2 Health Emergency due to COVID-19 by the Ohio Department of Health, please read the following Rec Sports update:
-We have decided to adhere to our traditional timeline for Fall season registration: late August signups, early September start of practices.
-When canceling the Spring season, we hoped to have an extended Fall season. However, today’s announcement from the Ohio Department of Health is one of several reasons why we do not feel confident in starting early at this time.
-Our hope is still to have a Fall season. However, we must remain flexible and mindful of all best practices and health/safety recommendations.
